Justin has been painting for over ten years and has been drawing for all of his life. As a young child, he displayed an advanced ability in visually depicting life scenarios in pencil drawings, being influenced by comic art, fantasy, human anatomy, and nature. He studied art, philosophy, psychology and music while in college at Winston-Salem State University and earned his B.A. in Fine Arts in 1999 under the direction of North Carolina native artist and instructor Marvette Aldrich. His work has been exhibited in various galleries and venues in North Carolina including Diggs Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC and the African American Atelier in Greensboro, NC. He lives and works in his native city of Charlotte, North Carolina.
